.32 centerfire (we do not know what .32 cartridge this rifle accepts) with a 26" barrel. Manufactured 1888 to 1897. The full octagon barrel is a smooth grey-brown patina with strong barrel legend. Has original sporting front and rear sights. Frame has silvered out to a dull grey with perfect patent dates on left side. Both frame screws are slightly boogered. Walnut forend with metal tip is original, proud to metal, never refinished, in excellent condition with no cracks and has a pewter tip. The butt stock has been altered, checkered and refinished. Tthe lower tang has been altered for the current pistol grip stock configuration. Original buttplate. Poor bore. Fine action. This rifle would greatly benefit if re-bored to a popular .32 caliber and a new rear stock fitted.
