Typical blacksmith iron blade ax with a 4" wide blade measures 7-1/4" in length. Attached to a hand carved wood handle that is 21" long. This is a type of belt axe carried in the Frontiers of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky in the early part of the 19th century. Handle has some cracking. Blade is a brown patina with texture finish from rust.
