Fred Mueller opened his first leather shop at 1415 Larimer Street in Denver Colorado in 1891. It was located one block away from the first Wells Fargo office in the West. He was well known for making sturdy and dependable leather products and his wares were wildly popular with cowboys. Both the holster and the belt are maker marked with his stamp. The holster is a standard double loop of plain russet leather with no tooling, full skirt, and will house a Colt Single Action Army in either 4-3/4" or 5-1/2" barrel length, but the latter does protrude an 1/8" past toe. The holster skirt is stamped with the maker mark. The belt is a simple belt with no cartridge loops and features a nickel plated oval buckle, and it too is stamped. Holster has a much older maker mark than the belt, and the colors are a bit off as one was purchased years later. This would make a nice rig for a pre-war Colt Single Action Army that had been shipped to Denver. It remains in excellent shape. Holster does have some busted and missing stitching, but is still pliable.
FRED MUELLER HOLSTER/BELT COLT RIG.
