Has a 40 inch barrel. Caliber is .58 bore. Fairly standard US issue model 1863 rifle. Manufactured under contract to the US government. Stamped US Trenton. Lock dated 1864. This is a three band rifle with standard three leaf folding rear sight. Metal finished in the white. Now light patina with age freckling. Barrel has 1864 VP eagle head stamp. Butt plate stamped US. Has a very good bore. Wood is very good with some chipping. Has a strong cartouche on the left side. Breech of barrel is stamped NJ for New Jersey.
