.30-40 U.S. with a 28" barrel. Manufactured in 1899. This standard rifle remains in beautiful all original configuration with most of its original factory finish. The barrel retains approximately 85% original factory blue with some thinning and sports standard Winchester sights. The frame and sides of magazine retain approximately 70% of the original high polish factory blue with the balance thinned to gun metal grey. The areas within the flutes is bright. Original walnut stocks are near mint, proud to metal with no cracks of chips; just a couple of minor handling marks. Bolt retains 80% of the original high polish blue. Left side of lever is stamped "K.S.M." which stands for Kelly S. Morse who was a U.S. Ordnance inspector, which would indicate this rifle has a military tie-in which is almost never seen on a standard 1895 Winchester. Strong cases of case colors on hammer. Near mint strong bore. Perfect action. Nice all original high condition Winchester 1895 with military association.
