.30-30 caliber with a 20" barrel. The frame was manufactured in 1898. It was re-barreled at a later date and features a later barrel marking with the ramp front sight. It is a standard carbine in all other respects with full magazine, Winchester sporting rear sight, saddle ring and stud and carbine buttplate. Barrel and tube are a grey-blue-brown patina with some freckling. Frame has turned gun metal grey mixed with brown patina. Original walnut stocks are very good with numerous hunting abrasions but no cracks or major chips. Action is fine. Strong bore.
