.40-82 WCF with a 30" barrel. Standard high wall single shot rifle manufactured in 1893 in an extremely scarce .40-82 WCF chambering. Standard features include a heavy full octagon blued barrel, walnut stocks with rifle butt and case colored frame. Barrel retains approximately 80% original high polish factory blue that shows wear on sharp edges of barrel flats. The frame has traces of case colors but has basically nickeled out. The walnut stocks are very good, proud to metal with numerous hunting dings, and a small 3/4" closed crack at lower and upper tang. Very good rifled bore. Perfect action. Replaced back tang screw. Extremely rare to find these large caliber hunting rifles as the majority of this model were manufactured in the lighter calibers. It is obvious that this rifle was used for big game hunting. Well cared for.
