Barrel length is 28", Caliber is .32-40 W.C.F.This rifle appears to be a Model 45 single shot part octagon barrel with the swiss butt plate. The barrel is part octagon and retains approximately 90% of the factory original blue finish, special spirit level rear with bubble glass intact, has the globe front sight, the front 3/4" of barrel at muzzle has been turned in the white to accept a Pope-Style bullet loading guide. The forestock is excellent with the oil finish and no cracks or chips. The butt stock has had finish added and there is a crack at the toe at butt plate from screw which would be an easy repair and if one were to match the finish on the forend would be a lovely piece of walnut. The frame retains 95% of the Stevens specific case colors. The applied long range tang rear sight is a reproduction. The block retains virtually all of the fire blue finish, the action is as new and has a strong rifle bore. Beautiful rifle as is, would be a gem with some attention to the wood.
