.30 WCF with a 26" barrel. Manufactured 1897. This antique serial range model 1894 Winchester has the following deluxe features: half octagon barrel, half magazine, takedown, folding leaf express rear sight, folding globe front sight double set triggers, deluxe pistol grip checkered extra finish walnut stocks and smooth steel shotgun buttplate. The barrel retains approximately 90% original factory blue finish with some minor areas of freckling, thinning and storage marks. The forend cap and takedown tube retain approximately 90% original blue with high edge wear. Checkered walnut stocks are near mint, proud to metal, sharp checkering with beautiful grain and the lightest of typical storage marks. Retains virtually all of the original finish. Has the original Winchester pistol grip cap. Checkering on both stocks is still extremely sharp with a few minor dents. Buttplate retains approximately 30% original factory blue, with the rest gun metal grey. Brilliant original case colors on sides and bottom of lever. Gun metal grey inside. Hammer retains virtually all of its original case colors. Bolt and loading gate retain approximately 95% of the brilliant blue. The takedown ring has 70% original blue, starting to thin. Frame and tang retain virtually all of the high polish blue finish but was expertly restored. Two tap holes were filled in on left side of frame and the frame was expertly refinished in the proper Winchester style and hue. The frame is the only area of the rifle that was restored.
