.22 short caliber with a 24" barrel. Manufactured in 1890. The .22 caliber Winchester Model 1873 is eagerly sought by Winchester collectors due to the relative low production numbers. This rifle features 24" full round barrel, full magazine, plain walnut stocks and rifle butt. All metal surfaces are a pleasing soft patina, albeit there are some minor vice marks on both sides of barrel at rear sight that have patinated over, indicating they were done long ago. The rear sight is a replacement Marble's. Stocks are original, proud to metal, but there is a 1/2" chip on right side of fore end and small chip at wrist and tang. It is missing the rear tang sight filler screw. Hammer does not stay cocked when lever is worked. Rifling visible but worn.
