.44 rimfire with a 24" barrel. Manufactured 1864. Offered is a lovely, all original Henry rifle that was manufactured near the end of the Civil War and remains in all original, all matching, untouched condition. This rifle has matching numbers on barrel, tang, stock, buttplate and buttplate screws. Original walnut stocks display the majority of their original piano finish with usual light abrasions and no cracks or chips. Has the rounded heel brass buttplate. Frame and buttplate are a dark mustard color and have never been touched or cleaned. Barrel hammer and lever are a clean, smooth, dark blue-chocolate brown patina. Barrel legends are sharp as new. Octagon edges are still sharp. Has the original sling swivels on barrel and stock. The lever screw appears to be a period replacement and all remaining screws are original. An exceptionally clean and original Henry. One of the nicer examples we have seen.
