.30 gov't caliber with a 23-1/2" barrel. Manufactured 1905. Standard features include round barrel, three piece walnut stock with hand guard, blued finish. It is obvious this carbine was assembled utilizing a cut-down rifle barrel (1-1/2" too long for a carbine), the butt stock has been replaced and now has a checkered steel shotgun butt instead of carbine. Forend and hand guard are very good. Barrel is a smooth blue grey with some thinning. Frame retains approximately 20% blue with some wiped on finish. Has saddle ring and stuff, and sports a Slidin' Lyman Model 21 rear sight, front sight is a custom band with dovetail, much like the Model 1903 Springfield. Frame bridge has been cleaned, "P.W." still visible. Strong rifled bore and perfect action. Good shooter as is, or could be used for parts.
