.32-40 W.C.F. Caliber, Barrel length 30", This rifle was manufactured in 1898. It is a period custom rifle, but the workmen has not signed his wears so we do not know who or when it was created but is definitely a period custom. Standard features include: full octagon No. 3 barrel, has deluxe checkered forend with ebony tip, deluxe checkered pistol grip stock with roll over, high comb with brass swiss butt plate. It is equipped with standard original sporting front and rear end sights. The barrel retains approximately 98% of the expertly re-applied blue albeit barrel legend is thinned in spots. The frame retains traces of case colors but has mostly nickeled out. The lever has been nickel plated retaining 70% of that finish with some freckling. It has a set trigger. The checkering has a very fine L.P.I. and is still sharp. The oil finished stocks are excellent, perfectly fitted with no cracks or chips. The brass swiss butt plate has turned a mustard yellow. The grip cap is missing (easily replaced). Action is perfect and strong visible rifling with light black powder abrasions. A beautiful period custom Hi-Wall rifle in a popular caliber.
