Features a 4-1/2" barrel in .38 rimfire. This is a scarce early production in that the frame is stamped "Colt's Patent" without the date. It has matching numbers except the cylinder in numbered 159. Gun retains approximately 70% of the original factory nickel applied at the time of conversion. Has excellent original varnished walnut grips that are a bit shy to metal. Traces of case colors on hammer. Has a nearly 100% visible cylinder scene. Strong legend over the nickel. Has areas of brown age spotting. Two of the frame screws burred and need replacing. Indexes perfectly. Strong bore with some minor black powder abrasion. Pretty nice example with lots of original finish and could be greatly improved with some new screws and a little cleaning.
