With artwork for the design of each of the patches. These are original sketches with patent dates and pertinent letters to the commanding generals submitting the designs to be used on the actual patches worn by military personal during the Vietnam War. These were de-accessed from the U.S. government files. Most are dated early to mid-1960s. Many of the submitted drawings are done in color, and the original patch accompanies the patent. Included: 1967 - 198th Infantry; 1963 Army personnel insignia; 1963 Airborne; 1966 Field Force; 1964 Vietnam service ribbons. Each page of this album has the design and the submission form so they may be accepted as official patches. Includes beautiful artwork, dozens of original patches (some of the artwork suitable for framing), hundreds of pages of correspondences, original receipts, and original postmarked envelopes to the U.S. Army Heraldic Command. We have never seen anything like this ever offered at auction. It is a unique one of a kind history of military patches during the Vietnam War with enough material to write a book.
