.38 centerfire with 3-1/2" barrels. These revolvers were manufactured in the 1870-80s. Both feature five shot, single action, spur trigger, nickel finish with removable barrels, a unique feature to the Merwin product line. Both revolvers are basically a grey gun metal patina with age freckling, one of which retains approximately 20% original factory nickel. Serial No. 7362 is in perfect working order, locks up tight as a drum, and has a very good strong bore with frosting. Serial No. 1008 needs some mechanical attention as hammer will not stay back, excellent strong bore and sports a very good pair of original gutta percha grips with small chip on bottom left panel. While the other gun sports a pair of ill-fitting pearls with numerous chips. Neither gun shows any heavy burn on cylinder ends which would indicate most of the finish loss is due to prolonged carry.
