This very old Winchester was built in 1903. It was a special order two barrel set. One barrel measures 26" and choked cylinder bore. The bore is bright and shiny it's full length. The original barrel blue rates 95%-98%. The receiver extension is starting to turn plum. The finely checkered forearm rates excellent with deep fine dark checkering with only minor handling marks. The second set of barrels measure 30" and choked full. Original barrel blue rates 95%-98%. The bore is bright and shiny its full length. The highly figured forearm rates excellent with deep fine dark checkering. The original blue reciever rates 95%-98% and features a matted top site plane. The bolt is stamped "trap gun". The screws show that they have a high luster or fire blue appearance. The straight grip stock measures 13 - 1/2" to an old Winchester solid red recoil pad. There is a black diamond inlaid at the wrist on both sides. The highly figured walnut buttstock shows fine sharp checkering. The wood to metal fit is perfect. The wood shows no cracks or breaks and only very minor handling marks. Winchester factory records show this gun as a two barrel set (both numbered to gun) and left the factory in its present condition. Included with the gun is a custom made brown leather and oak hard case with a cloth cover. There is a rosewood cleaning rod, original set of hang tags, original instructions, a score card, a Winchester grease tube and a Winchester oil bottle. Also includes a full early two piece box of Winchester shells. This fantastic gun would be the perfect addition for the advanced collector or a great gun for a trap shooter. One of the finest factory two barrel Black Diamond sets in existence with all original paperwork, tags, and a French-fitted oak and leather custom case. Factory research letter confirms shipped as a two barrel set.
