.31 bore percussion with a 5" barrel. Manufactured 1862 to 1869. This is referred to as a second model with a Philadelphia address. The Cooper was a popular revolver during the Civil War. It looks very similar to a Colt 1849 with the exception of the double action and the rebated cylinder. This example is one of the finest condition Coopers to survive. The barrel retains 90% of the original high polish factory blue with perfect barrel legend. The cylinder retains likewise the same amount of high polish factory blue. Original nipples are near mint. Brilliant original case colors on frame, lever and hammer, 60% original plating on trigger guard and back strap with most of the platting lost on grip straps. Original varnished walnut grips are near mint. Cylinder has a light drag line. Bore and action are like new. It is housed in a French fitted case made specifically for the Cooper with the large cut-out for the double action trigger guard, lined in vintage purple velvet. Comes with an original two-cavity bullet mold, eagle flask, cap tin and six projectiles. One of the finest cased Coopers in existence.
