Barrel length 39" Caliber is .69 bore. These were manufactured by P.S. Justice in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1861. Total quantity 2,174 produced. Lock plate is marked P.S. Justice/ PHILADA. This is a third type. Features three brass barrel bands, brass sight, brass trigger guard, brass butt plate, and patch box. Stock is one piece walnut. Has standard three leaf folding rear sight. Breech of barrel is stamped P.H. Justice PHILADA. All metal surfaces are dark brown patina with salt and pepper texture. Walnut stocks are excellent with no cracks and only minor abrasions. Comes with bayonet. Justice marked bayonet is within twenty numbers of the rifle. Very rare early Civil War rifle.
