8" barrel in .44 percussion caliber. Manufactured 1863. Fine condition example of a mixed-number 1860 Colt Army. Standard features include; blued 8" round barrel, fluted cylinder, case colored frame and walnut grips. Pistol is cut for the shoulder stock. Barrel retains approximately 70% original factory blue. Cylinder has flashes of blue in recesses. Case colors have grayed out. Walnut grips are excellent. Has 20" original blue on back strap turned brown patina. Brass trigger guard is a mustard color. This gun was re-assembled using a mix of parts as follows: brass trigger guard is No. 139793 and is stamped "U.S." with a "C" inspector stamp; barrel is stamped "90219", cylinder number is not visible with no cylinder scene; right side of barrel has "L" inspector mark; left side of barrel has inspector stamp "C"; "4441" is on the wedge. The revolver is actually in very nice shape, fits tight, with nice finish. It was most likely rebuilt by an armourer during the early days of the Indian Wars immediately after the Civil War, much like what was done with guns at Springfield Armory during the First, Second, and Korean Wars half a century later. Guns were returned for repair, serviceable parts were placed in bins, and then reassembled to get the firearms back in order.
