.44 caliber percussion with a 6" barrel. These revolvers were manufactured in the 1860s. Standard features include 6” barrel, six shot, double action, .44 caliber percussion, blued finish and walnut grips. This model is referred to as the model 1858 Navy revolver. These were military issues and this example has all the various inspector marks as well as a strong cartouche on both grip panels. The barrel finish is basically the blue-brown patina with some light areas of metal erosion. Frame retains approximately 30% original factory blue finish with the balance mixed patina, with the cylinder a smooth brown patina as well. All the original nipples are intact and in excellent condition. Walnut grips are excellent. Perfect operating condition in double action only (no single action). Cylinder number matches frame. Excellent clean and strong bore. Far above average Starr made famous in the Clint Eastwood movie “The Unforgiven”.
