Serial number is 397388, caliber is 30-06 govt., barrel length is 24". This is an excellent example of a WWII model 1903 arsenal rebuild rifle. The receiver falls into the post 1919 Rock Island production. The barrel is stamped SA 11-42, the walnut stock is the WWII manufacturer with the FJA cartouche in a rectangle on left side with the ordinance wheel (Frank Atwood 1941-1944 Remington). As are all of these WWII reissue rifles it is a mix of old and new parts (of that era). All existing parts are milled, not stamped, it has the later WWII rear sight and adjusting discs. Metal retains 95% of the wartime dull parkerized finish, walnut stocks are very good with the usual dings and has proof P in circle under wrist. Perfect action, bore is very good and has a muzzle reading of one. A fine condition example of the classic WWII service rifle.
