This Winchester 1897, manufactured in 1917, is a takedown model featuring 28" plain barrels, full choke. The bore rates good, showing no pitting or corrosion, but does have a tiny dent 11" from the muzzle. Barrel blue has turned a plum color and shows light pitting. The forend wood is in good condition and has been refinished. The receiver has had chemical contact which removed all of the blue. Butt stock has a 14" LOP to a brown Pachmayr pad. Butt stock wood has also been refinished. Gun functions perfectly and should make a good hunting gun.
