These early scopes were manufactured in Cleveland Ohio by the Warner and Swasey Company and were marketed as the telescopic musket sight. They were one of the first scopes utilized by snipers during the first World War on both 1903 Springfield's as well as by the Ross Rifle Company who supplied guns to the Canadian forces. The first model scope was the model of 1908 which was followed by the updated model of 1913. Both of these scopes are the model 1913 version. Neither scope has any of the armature or mounting system present. They are just the body which is complete with optics, one has the original rubber eye piece and is accompanied by one original leather carry case manufactured by Diamond. The leather case is in very good condition. Both retaining straps are present as well as the belt hanger, no tool, optics are working but have the usual dirt in the lenses. Both retain approximately 30% of the original black enamel and the original range charts. One cover is missing all but one of the screws. With some work and some parts these scopes can once again find their way onto a World War I Springfield.
LOT OF 2: WARNER-SWASEY WWI SNIPER SCOPES.
