Both rifles are in nearly identical condition featuring fine wood stocks and retaining 90 percent or better of the original blue finish. Both retain all original factory parts. They are referred to as the Model 1938 short rifle. Produced by FN. Introduced in 1938, Sweden adopted a short rifle that was identical to the Model 1896 with smaller dimensions and bent bolt handle. Both sport 23.6 inch barrels and both are chambered for the 6.5x55mm cartridge. The manufacturers name and date are stamped on the receiver ring. Both stocks have the brass discs and sling swivels with cleaning rods and standard military sights. Both have fine bores and perfect actions. Both are fine Swedish Mausers. Considered by many to be the finest manufactured during that eraSerial number 610403. Dated 1941. The receiver and bolt have matching numbers with various numbers on front band and floor plate. Butt plate is numbered to frame.B. Serial number 684726. Dated 1943. Matching frame and bolt.
