.30-06 caliber with a 26" barrel. This is the U.S. issue bolt action rifle that was the most widely used weapon by U.S. troops during the first World War, the type carried by Alvin York. It remains in beautiful condition, retaining 90% of the original factory blue finish and was not reparkerized for later issue. Barrel is stamped “E” with the Ordnance bomb and dated “9-18”. The bolt shroud, safety, rear sight and bolt release are stamped “E”. Bolt is stamped “R” (Remington replacement). Left side of stock is stamped “R.A.P.” (cartouche). Bottom of wrist stamped with eagle head, no “P”. Perfect working order. Strong clean bore. One of the nicer examples of this type we have seen in a while.
