In caliber .44-40 and .25-20 with 24" barrels. The first gun was manufactured in 1913. Standard features include 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, walnut stocks, Winchester sporting sights. Strong clean bore and perfect action. The wood is very good, proud to metal, no cracks or chips and is much nicer than usual. The caliber is the most desirable, as is this configuration. The bad news; the metal is completely covered in spotted rust from poor storage. If ever a rifle was a candidate for expert restoration, this would be it. The second gun was manufactured in 1915. Standard features include 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, Winchester sporting sights, walnut stock, rifle butt, blued finish. The barrel has turned a smooth blue-brown patina as has the magazine. The frame is basically a soft brown patina with the majority of the blue on the loading gate. Wooden stocks are excellent with no cracks or chips, though a bit shy at tang. The rifle has the following issues: rear sight has been replaced, an extra dovetail has been cut, there are four screw holes in top of barrel for scope mount, there is a hole on the left side of the frame (probably scope adjusting screw hole), and the lever screw is a replacement. Very good bore. Fine action.
