Caliber .40-65 WCF with a 26" barrel. Manufactured in 1890. Offered is a very nice example of a standard 1886 Winchester. Features a 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, case colored frame, walnut stock and rifle butt. Sports the scarce 1886 dated folding ladder rear sight with standard front. The barrel and tube are a smooth pleasing mix of blue-brown patina with strong barrel legend, some light age freckling, but extremely clean and untouched. The case colored frame has nickeled out with some soft patina and light freckling. 30% blue on loading gate. Screw heads are near mint. Wood is very nice but a bit shy of metal on butt stock, having been refinished with a sliver at right wrist. Comb has been notched for tang sight (no longer present). Has replaced tang screws. Strong rifled bore and perfect action.
