Barrel length is 24" in caliber .38-40. Manufactured in 1890. Special order features on this rifle include; part octagon part round barrel with the button/half magazine. Standard features include; walnut stocks with rifle butt, blued finish with sporting front and rear sites. The barrel finish is a smooth soft brown patina. The frame is full metal grey with some scattered salt and pepper finish on both sides. The stocks are very good, the forearm is proud to metal with a 1" hairline crack at frame on bottom. The butt stock was refinished and is slightly shy to metal with a 1 - 1/2" crack at comb and tang. The tang site screws have been replaced. Perfect working order. Strong rifle bore with minor black powder erosion. Handsome configuration. Factory research: shipped 9-9-1890. 38 cal, 1/2 oct, 1/2 mag.
