.44 caliber with a 20" barrel. Manufactured in 1919. The Winchester 1892 carbine in the .44 caliber is eagerly sought by collectors. This example is in that configuration, albeit it has seen much use in the field. Features a 20” barrel, full magazine, post front sight, folding ladder rear sight, saddle ring and stud, carbine buttplate and blued finish. All metal surfaces are basically a gun metal grey finish with some freckling and spotting. The loading gate retains the majority of the original blue finish. The gumwood stocks have had finish added but not overly sanded. Forearm has a crack running the length of the bottom. Butt stock has the usual numerous abrasions. Replacement refinished buttplate that could use a better job of fitting. Tang screws have been replaced/reblued. Strong bore with some minor surface abrasion.
