.38-40 caliber with a 16" barrel. Manufactured in 1907. The trapper models in the Winchester lever action line are some of the most interesting of all variations. They are very scarce and highly collectible, and the majority saw extremely hard use in the field and as such do not surface in high condition, when they surface at all. This trapper sports the 16” barrel, full magazine, saddle ring and stud, walnut stocks, carbine butt, post front sight and folding ladder carbine rear sight. Given the condition, this little rifle could tell some stories. All metal surface are basically a gun metal grey with spotting and are devoid of any original finish. Walnut forend is very good, proud to metal, with no cracks or major chips. Butt stock is very good, proud to metal, with no cracks but is missing a 1” piece at right and left tang. Perfect working order. Bore exhibits visible rifling with normal abrasions. Right side frame has one replaced screw. A scarce little carbine.
