.38 Smith & Wesson Special with a 5" barrel. The 10-5 was introduced in 1962 and the D serial number was introduced in 1967. Standard features on this revolver include a 5" barrel, double action, nickel finish, six shot, double action with case colored hammer and trigger. The back strap is engraved "Detroit Police 21226". According to Smith & Wesson The Detroit Police marked standard order was a model 10-5 with a 5" pencil barrel, nickel finish, square butt, three screw, pinned barrel. This gun remains in near new condition with no cylinder burn, 100% finish with light drag line, perfect colors on hammer and trigger. Original walnut grips are not numbered and sports a pair of faux pearl grips presently. It is housed in its original grey box, numbered to the gun with paperwork.
