.22 caliber with a 18" barrel. Approximately 4,000 of these rifles were manufactured for dealers by Daisy in 1968. The Presentation Model features blued metal, plain oil finished pistol grip and walnut stock with a brass presentation plaque on right side. This was rifle No. 40 and was made for the collection of Olympic Wholesale Company. This rifle is both an air gun and a firearm. It features an under-lever spring piston but the action is supplemented by the ignition of a propellant mass molded on the base of a special 29 grain bullet. Ignition is due to the high temperature developed by the spring piston on the moment of firing. This is referred to as a caseless cartridge. Daisy was forced to pull this gun from production after the assassination of Robert Kennedy in 1968 and the BATF ruled this weapon a firearm and Daisy was not licensed to produce firearms. The offered rifle is in as new condition inside and out. Comes in its original hard case with four boxes of VL boxed ammunition and a sealed accessory bag. It is both rare and desirable.
