.45 ACP with a 5" barrel. Manufactured in 1918. Standard issue 1918 black Army with the United States Property stamp on left frame and "Model of 1911 U.S. Army" on right side of slide. Eagle head "S-12" inspector stamp on left side of frame. Has all proper World War I era small checkered parts with proper U-notch rear sight and "H" inspector stamp on back of slide. Sports an original set of diamond checkered walnut grips that are in very good condition. Flat mainspring house and grip safety have turned a brown patina while the remainder of this pistol retains approximately 95% of the expertly reapplied blue finish with some minor freckling. Has a period two-tone magazine. Fine bore. Perfect action. All legends are sharp as new. An extremely handsome as expertly refurbished Army .45.
