.45 ACP with a 5" barrel. This pistol started off life as a 1911 Commercial manufactured in 1917 that was standard in all respects with blued finish and diamond checkered walnut grips. The pistol retains all of the vintage 1917 small checkered parts, along with the original rear sight, but the notch has been squared up, a new front sight base along with the addition of a trigger shoe. Pistol retains approximately 80% of the reapplied high polish blue finish, but the legends remain strong and most of the wear appears to be the grip straps which have worn to bare metal. Original diamond grips are excellent, the left side is quite sharp, while the right side shows a bit more wear to the diamonds. Bore is perfect. Fine action. Has a modern Randall replacement magazine. Should be a fine shooter or a good restoration project.
