.31 percussion caliber with a 6" barrel. Manufactured in 1862. Standard features include 6" barrel, five shot, single action, percussion, varnished walnut grips, and plated brass back strap and trigger guard. This revolver left the factory in either nickel or tin plated as both the frame and barrel legends are devoid of this finish. The barrel retains traces of this plating with the balance mixing well to a shiny gun metal appearance. The frame retains approximately 60% of this finish with some light freckling. Cylinder has been cleaned to match and retains no original finish. All numbers match including wedge and lever. Original grips retain a large percentage of the original varnish with no cracks or chips. 30-40% original plating on back strap and trigger guard. Action is perfect. Strong clean bore. Tinned Colts were popular with the sea service. This revolver is housed in a vintage re-purposed box. Has a reproduction silver plated flask, old German turn screw, Colt two cavity bullet mold, steel, and an old cap tin.
