It is a .60 bore and barrel length is 39". This was the last of the British manufactured smooth bore muskets with stock design in the Brown Bess style with the distinctive stock pattern. The barrel is a smooth gray patina with British proof at breech and stamped C749. The lock is a gray patina and has no markings of any kind. The stock is very good with no cracks, has had finish added and has numerous small abrasions. Has the original sling swivels, the striker is a replacement, a very good bore, no martial government issue marks, most likely made for export. Popular in the American colonies in the 1830's and the Western frontiers of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
