Serial number is 77129, caliber is .38 super, barrel length is 5". Manufactured in 1949. Factory letter states that this pistol was shipped to the Seattle Hardware Co., Seattle, Washington, October 20th, 1949 in a shipment of ten guns. It is listed as a .38 Super with a 5" barrel and blued finish, with stocks not listed but currently sports the brown Colt logo Coltwood grips proper for this gun. It has the newly invented non-glare finish on top and bottom, recently introduced (1947) and high polished blue sides. The gun remains in excellent condition with all original parts and finish. It has approximately 95% of this original finish with just the usual high edge and muzzle wear. The grip straps are thinning to a blue-gray patina, the Coltwood brown grips are the early hard plastic style that were not prone to the shrinkage that is a characteristic of the later types. These early brown plastic grips resemble those used for the second World War and are the same type from the Keyes grips. Has the original Colt .38 Super auto stamped magazine. Mint bore and action. Wonderful early post-war .38 Super.
