Serial No. is 104426. Barrel length is 25 inches. Caliber is .375 H&H. Manufactured in 1949. Offered is a pre-64 super grade Model 70 in the .375 caliber. According to the book (The Rifleman's Rifle) by Roger Rule, only 2.41% of total production were manufactured in this chamber. Given the high retail price of this gun at the time, the number of Super Grade in this caliber would be infinitely smaller still. Standard features include a 25" heavy round barrel, bolt action, blued finish, deluxe checkered walnut stocks, factory red rubber recoil pad, factory sling eyes, and pistol grip cap. The gun is in beautiful condition. It has the sporting front and fold down rear sight with brass bead and hood. The barrel retains 98 percent of the original factory blue finish, the frame retains 98 percent of its matt finish. The bolt retains most of the dual blue thinning at bolt knob. The floor plate, while retaining most of the original finish, does have some light age freckling and thinness around high edges. Checkering is sharp. Wood is excellent with no cracks or chips, but there are a few minor abbraisions from use. Fine bore with perfect action. Included with this rifle is a reproduction display box and paperwork. Original Winchester marked sling, and swivels are included. A true post-war classic capable of taking down the world's most dangerous game. Extremely nice example. Produced immediately after the second World War.
