Serial number is 46506, caliber is .44 WCF, barrel length is 22-1/2". These fine rifles were manufactured from 1912 to 1922. It is a standard rifle chambered for the .44-40 Winchester cartridge. Features a 22-1/2" barrel, blued finish, and walnut stocks. It has a wheel-dial adjustable rear sight and a replaced Sheard front. Has an extremely strong and clean bore. Action works perfectly. The barrel retains 80% of the factory blue finish blending to a soft brown patina and sharp barrel legends. Magazine tube is a nice mix of blue and brown. Frame retains approximately 80% blue and thinning on edges and base. Stocks are proud to metal. Very good condition with no major dents. There is an expertly restored repair at toe that is barely noticeable. Has the Remington UMC hard rubber buttplate. The forend is grooved walnut in excellent shape with no cracks or chips. Bottom trigger guard has the Remington logo. Has the Remington UMC cartridge head set in the frame, with the take-down feature. Has all proper Remington patent logo at breech. The receiver breech is matted. The most desirable rifle in the most popular caliber. They were produced to shoot the large .44 caliber that would mate up with the Colt single and double action revolvers and were extremely popular in the north woods.
