This classic London Bowie is stamped S.W. Silver & Company and Cornhill an old bond street with the model "Bush Knife" stamped on the blade. It is a spear point, single edged with an 8-1/4" blade, a German silver quillion and checkered horn scales secured by five rivets. (An almost identical knife is pictured of page 55 in the book entitled "A Sure Offence" by Kenneth Burton). Overall length is 13". The blade legend is perfect and show some slight sharpening only with no nicks. Checkered grips are near mint and crack free. It is housed in a beautiful black leather scabbard with silver appointments and blued safety. An extremely high quality 1870's Bowie knife.
