.32-40 WCF caliber with a 26" barrel. Manufactured 1896. Offered is a beautiful, high condition antique takedown rifle with special order shotgun buttplate and chambered for the scarce .32-40 cartridge. Features include full octagon barrel, full magazine, standard sporting rear sight with flip-up globe front sight, blued finish, walnut stocks and case colored lever and hammer. The barrel and tube retains approximately 97% original factory blue with razor sharp edges and strong barrel legend. There is 1" of wear on tube from takedown. Nose cap retains approximately 40% original blue. Both sides of frame retains approximately 75% of the original high polish blue. Strong case colors on lever and hammer, some brilliant. The original highly finish walnut stocks are near mint, proud to metal, with no cracks or chips. Features the Winchester logo hard rubber buttplate. Even the loading gate retains approximately 40% of the brilliant fire blue finish. Perfect action. Strong rifled bored. A wonderful example of an early high condition special order takedown Model 1894 in the antique serial range. Factory letter states it was shipped on 10-10-1899
