.357 magnum caliber with a 5" barrel. Offered is a nice, early, post-war Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 27 manufactured in 1951-52 with the desirable 5" barrel. Standard features include blued finish, six shot, double action with diamond checkered walnut grips. This revolver retains approximately 98% original high polish factory blue finish with light muzzle wear, light drag line and high edge wear at crane. The original grips are excellent and numbered to the gun. Hammer and trigger retain virtually all of the original case color. Right side of frame has a minute area of freckling. Cylinder has light high edge wear at face. Action and bore are mint. This early revolver sports an original Merchon grip adapter. These early pre-27s are of the highest quality and exhibit most of the features found on the pre-war registered magnums.
