Relic Condition Winchester Model 1866 Yellow Boy.Serial No. 18 The serial number is on the inside of the tang and appears to be 1811, but we do not want to take the stock off, as it is too brittle. It is a standard carbine with a 20" barrel, full magazine, brass frame, walnut stocks, chambered for the .44 rimfire cartridge. As to condition, the barrel had cold blue wiped on at one time with pitting underneath. The tube is brown and pitted, as are the rings. Saddle ring in present. Wood is poor, chipped, cracked, and weathered. Poor bore. Operational. Has a replaced rear sight. Side plates do not match. There is a big chuck missing at the right wrist, a chunk of wood missing at toe and sections of wood missing on fore arm. Basically this is an old West wall-hanger that is valued more as a piece of Western art than it is a surviving rifle.
