.45 ACP caliber, barrel length 5". Offered is a fine condition original Model 1911 Colt clone as manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co. of Ithaca, NY during World War II. This pistol was manufactured in 1945. The right side of the frame is stamped "United States Property M 1911 A1 U.S. Army". Left side of slide is stamped "Ithaca Gun Co. Inc., Ithaca, N.Y." Left side of frame has the "F.J.A." inspector mark of Frank Atwood along with the proof "P". The proof "P" is also found on top of slide. The grips are brown composite, Keyes style with reinforcing ring. Proper small parts include: short checkered trigger, checkered safety, serrated slide stop, serrated hammer, and arched main spring housing. Pistol remains in all original condition retaining approximately 97% of the wartime phosphate finish. Grips are near mint. Fine bore and action. Extremely nice late war production.
