.40-60 cal, Barrel length 28". Referred to as the Centennial Model, as it was introduced at the 100th birthday celebration of the United States in Philadelphia in 1876. It is basically an enlarged version of the Model 1873 but chambered for the largest caliber available in a lever action at the time of introduction. Standard features include: full octagon barrel, full magazine, blue finish, walnut stocks with rifle butt plate. The rifle is equipped with the 1876 dated rear ladder sporting sight with the hooded adjustable long range front sight and long range rear tang sight. The barrel is a fine mix of blue turning patina with sharp edges and perfect legends. The magazine tube is a grey brown patina mix. The frame retains approx 20-30% original blue with balance turned clean, soft patina. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal with no cracks. Action is perfect. Strong rifling. Just a lovely, all original, way above average Model 1876 with special long range sights.
