Barrel length 32". Caliber 7.62 x 54mm. Remington produced approximately three million of these rifles between 1916 and 1918 for the Imperial Russian government. Some were issued to the U.S. government but this lacks any U.S. markings. This rifle, manufactured in 1917, has numerous Remington proof marks, the bolt is numbered 582485. Features the blued finish with walnut stock and no hand guard. Barrel contains 95% factory blue finish starting to patina. Frame and magazine retain most of their blue finish starting to turn. Magazine is stamped 582497 (matching). Very good walnut stock has Imperial cartouche on right side. Normal dings but no cracks. Has a fine bore, perfect action. Overall a very nice above average condition Remington model 1891. Even the buttplate has matching number.
