Barrel length 22", .54 percussion. The breech loading percussion Burnside carbine was one of the most widely used and most recognizable carbines of the Civil War era. This example is standard in all respects. This example remains in all original condition. Metal is grey patina. Walnut stocks are original and very good. Cartouche on left side is faint but visible. Action is fine, strong rifle bore with minor powder abrasion. It is obvious that this carbine saw service but remains in nice clean, all original condition.
