22" barrel in .45-90 caliber. Manufactured in 1906. One of the extreme rarities in Marlin lever action rifle collecting are the scarce 1895 carbines. Standard versions are extremely difficult to locate, and those with special order features even more so. This carbine features the rare factory sling swivels, the front is part of the rear barrel band. It has the desirable Marlin patented top receiver sight, and this example was made without a saddle ring. Standard features include full round barrel, full magazine, two barrel bands, walnut stock. Also features a blued barrel and tube with case colored frame and carbine metal buttplate. Front sight is a standard post and rear sight has a filler. Top of barrel is marked with patent date and special smokeless steel. Top of frame is stamped "Marlin Safety". Tang is stamped "Model 1895". Original stocks are excellent. Barrel retains approximately 90% original factory blue. Tube is plum. Case colors on the frame have basically silvered out with some visible color in hidden areas. Has 60% blue on loading gate. Strong rifling with some minor black powder abrasion. An extremely clean, scarce, desirable special order Model 1895 carbine in one of the most desirable calibers.
