24" barrel in .405 Winchester caliber. Manufactured in 1904. Fairly standard Winchester Model 1895 rifle in the popular .405 caliber. Standard features include blued finish, walnut stock, ebony insert in forend. the barrel retains approximately 85% original factory blue, thinning at breach. Rear sight has a filler which allows the use of the sliding rear sight. The rear sight is a reproduction of the Slidin' Lyman 21, manufactured by Providence Tool Co. When the sight is adjusted up, you can see a single filler screw from a receiver sight that is only visible when the sight is in its utmost position. The frame retains approximately 30-40% original blue with the balance patina, while the magazine and lever retain 50-60% original blue with the balance turning. There is a sling eye in rear stock and a solid 1" red recoil pad has been added, which is quite handsome and will allow for a much more comfortable shooting rifle. Fine bore and action. The wood is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips, but is a bit shy to metal, and was expertly refinished at one time. Extremely clean and good looking 95 that will also make a great shooting example.
